About

Our principal pruner, Kaori Moro, was born and raised in Japan. Her home city of Takamatsu is famous for

Sanuki Udon, Ritsurin Garden, and Bonsai.

She initially studied visual arts at Tama Art University in Tokyo and has exhibited sculptures and spatial installation works internationally such as MoMA PS1,

Kunstlerhaus Bethanien Berlin, and BankART, Tokyo.

Having relocated to the SF Bay Area,

she met Dennis Makishima, a pioneer in Aesthetic Pruning. Inspired by his vision, she has trained under master pruners Kenny Murakami, Jocelyn Cohen, and Yuki Nara.

Her precision pruning methods coupled with her experience

in sculptural arts will surely contribute to

bringing out the essence of your tree.
